Transactions of the Flesh

A short one today, bitches. This is the first chapter of my newest work in progress, The Skin Collection (please note, manuscript is not final and subject to change).

Howard Russo is a collector of human remains. What began as mere fascination became a hobby which fed off the man’s fragile will until it developed into a desperate craving that could never be fulfilled, no matter how many ghastly trophies lined his walls. Forty years later, very few know of Howard’s whereabouts, but some of those with this valuable information are ones to be feared, which is why the old man currently remains in hiding from the prying eyes of the world. Even still, his unhealthy desires persevere and the skins of countless men and women continue to keep him warm on the darkest, coldest of nights. Continue reading

10 Sexiest (female) Killers!

And here’s a list of the 10 sexiest killers in horror films! It’s by no means an exhaustive list and it’s off the top of my head, so I’m sure there’s plenty I’ve missed. Chime in below and let me know who should be added. And ladies, feel free to add Patrick Bateman or any other guys (or girls) you find sexy 🙂

Warning: Extreme spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen all of these films!!! I repeat, SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

10. Trash (Return of the Living Dead)

"Hey, somebody get some light over here, Trash is taking off her clothes again."

I loved this scene as a kid for obvious reasons. She’s a hardcore punker chick with a hot little body, who loves tearing off her clothes at random. Eventually her greatest fear comes true and she’s eaten alive by old men, only to return a zombie wearing nothing but her stockings! If I were ever to be eaten alive by a zombie, I’d want it to be Trash! Continue reading

A Non Paying Customer

The horrors of real life won’t allow me to add a long, well thought out post today. With that in mind I’ll give you a preview of what’s to come, then leave you with another writing sample; this one from The Lost Pages of Trevor Sunburn, and I warn you, it’s not for the kids!!!

Coming up is a discussion about my disgust with 90% of remakes, and CGI VS practical effects, and I encourage you to comment and stir up some debate in these dreaditorials. I’ll also be reviewing some older, obscure horror movies I feel you should demand you check out if you haven’t already.

Well the lawn isn’t gonna cut itself, so here’s a sample from my experimental horror/adventure/sci-fi/black comedy/surreal novel, The Lost Pages of Trevor Sunburn, which will be up for sale along with Dōguhn in the not too distant future. Continue reading

The Quest For Knowledge (Excerpt from Doguhn)

A sample of the first chapter of my first novel ( Dōguhn ), written a few years ago but recently revised and soon to available to purchase…Please take the time to read, and if you enjoy it (or even if you hate it) leave a comment and let me know!

There are individuals in this world whose desires and ravenous hunger sometimes drive them to measures one would otherwise recoil from. In many cases those actions lead to such boundaries as murder, whether for business or pleasure. The man in apartment E6, on many occasions, has taken part in both. Continue reading

This site shall be named…

I wanted to call the blog The Lost Pages, as a reference to my most recently completed novel, as well as what I believed to be an effective name for a blog site. This didn’t happen because thelostpages.com was already taken. It’s inactive, but someone’s squatting like a bitch so I had to come up with something new.

So I played with names, searched for availability, then searched google for similar products and services to make sure I’m not stepping on anyone’s toes, found out I was and started the whole damn process over again. It took a lot of trial and error and plays on words to come to a final decision. Continue reading

We have such sights to show you!

Welcome to The Living Dread; future home of my horror novels and short stories (some free, some not so free), retro and new reviews of horror movies, books and games, and some fun discussion about all things horror.

So who am I? Well for now I’m a stranger to most of you, but I hope to change that with time, and I’d be tickled pink if a chunk of you found some enjoyment in my books. Continue reading
